This song really reminds me of "The Jungle Book" at least the first half of it does. Especially the little flute run about 1:22 into the song and repeats occasionally. As the title suggests, the song is about the evening time of a day, The first half of the song has a good vibe to it, with a jungle like feel.I don't care too much for the second half of the piece "Twilight Time." It doesn't seem to fit with the orchestra part leading into it, nor the earlier part of the song. It is abrupt and unexpected. I Think it should be a separate track as it almost takes away from the song, putting them together.I do like the final orchestra bit of this song, it has a feel that is very similar to Danny Elfman's arrangements. This Album represents the birth of the fusion between rock and orchestra, pioneering an entirely new vein of music genres. And new options for stage antics (your welcome KISS ) Any one who has not atleast listened to this album once, ought to since it certainly has it's place in the "Hystory of good music" file.Through out the album there seems to be a separation between songs by the moody blues and the orchestra pieces, almost like two different entities, both good but they seem too separate at times, with little congruency, With the exception to "The Afternoon: Forever Afternoon (Tuesday)/a time to get away" and a few others. A concept album as well, it plots out different times of the day and describes activities that one might do during various times in said day.

#2 "Make Yourself" by Incubus

The Title track from the album "Make Yourself" Like most of Incubus' songs it promotes self motivation and improvement with a slightly cynical air. This song is a good show of incubus' progressive undercurrent, with alternating 4/4 3/4 feel during the verses and bridge. From album to album the feel of Incubus' music changes, while they still maintain certain characteristics that set them apart in the alt-rock genre, This album is on the slightly heavier side, with progressive attributes. And develops a good pulse between heavy and lighter from song to song, creating a good flow and feel to the album as a straight through piece. The track previous to "Make Yourself" (titled "Stellar") is a bit softer with a heavier chorus that creates tension and build in to "Make yourself," which maintains the pressure and builds even more to an allmost climax. "Make Yourself" ends on one of the heaviest moments of the CD and flows into "Drive" which is one of the gentlest on the album. This drastic difference creates a welcome release in tension and maintains the captivating pulse and suspenseful rhythm of the album.
Favorite line: "At a distance your strong, until the wind comes, then you crumble and blow away"

The First One

The Mountain Goats, lead by John Darnielle. Folk, acoustic, singer/songwriter. His style is very unique, I enjoy how he describes things very vivid and plainly, with an almost child-like blatancy.This song in particular is more down tempo then most other songs on the album. It offers a bit of a break, but still remains in the melodramatic-esque style that Darnielle is good for. The album follows a couple that are in a marriage that is falling apart as they move to a new house. In "International Small Arms Traffic Blues" he uses quite uncommon metaphors to compare both his love, and unpleasant global situations
Favorite line: "Our love is like the border between Greece and Albania; trucks loaded down with weapons, crossing over every night"

The Plan
So I figured that as long as people will continue to refer to me as a "Music Snob" I might as well publish my views on music. At least that way i can spread the love/hate of music to anyone interested. I figure i will just publish some random reviews I have done on forums, or just pick an artist/song/album at random.
